Martlesham is an historic village with a population of some 5,500 people which lies within 500 metres of Martlesham Creek on the River Deben, an area of outstanding natural beauty and wildlife.

The village is about 2 miles south of Woodbridge and six miles to the east of Ipswich. It is close to Martlesham Heath, home to Adastral Park, BT’s global research and development centre, which is one of the world’s pioneering centres of technology and telecommunications.

The site is currently being promoted through the emerging East Suffolk District Council Local Plan after which it is intended that detailed development proposals will be prepared.
