Welham Green

This project is for a mix of about 70 private and affordable homes on the south side of Welham Green, a village located to the south of Hatfield in Hertfordshire. The 4 hectare (10 acres) site is being promoted through the Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council emerging Local Plan which is expected will go to Examination in Public later in 2017 for review, after which allocations will be made.

Welham Green is a prosperous area with good levels of employment and shopping areas. The village is well served by transport, with a railway station on the East Coast Main Line running into King’s Cross and Moorgate. It is perhaps best known as the place from which the first passenger hot air balloon landed in the UK in 1784 on its maiden voyage from central London.
